Trainee, HR & Rewards Consulting

Are you studying, nearing graduation or at the beginning of your career and interested in HR, rewards, performance and consulting?

We are looking for a part-time Trainee, HR & Rewards Consulting to join Perform & Pay, a performance and rewards consultancy based in Helsinki. The employment will initially be approximately three days per week, with the working hours and days agreed based on your situation and ours. While the initial contract is fixed term, our hope is to find someone who could grow with us longer term, with the possibility of continuing in a Junior Consultant or Specialist role after the trainee period.

You don't need to be a rewards expert when you join us. We're looking for someone who is curious about how international organizations work, enjoys working with both data and people, and is eager to learn about rewards and HR in practice. During the traineeship, you will work alongside our team on real client projects and gradually take on more responsibility as your skills develop.

What we do 

A large part of our work focuses on fair pay and pay transparency, but our projects cover rewards and performance management more broadly. How companies structure roles, manage rewards, set performance expectations and develop capabilities all play an important part in business success.

We help our clients with topics such as:

• Designing and implementing job architectures and job evaluation frameworks

• Defining compensation structures, policies and related communication

• Analysing pay equity and existing compensation practices

• Designing incentive plans to drive strategy and performance goals

• Linking performance management to business success

Every client is different, and so are the solutions we build together. One of the best parts of our work is getting to work with different organizations, industries and people while solving practical HR and rewards challenges.

What will you do as our Trainee?

In the Trainee role, you will work closely with the rest of our team and support different stages of client projects. Depending on your skills and the projects at hand, your work could include:

• supporting the preparation and delivery of client meetings and workshops

• drafting presentations and other materials for client projects

• analysing compensation and market data to support client work

• supporting project coordination by preparing project schedules, arranging meetings and keeping calendars aligned with clients

• helping us improve our internal tools, materials and ways of working

Because we're a small team, your role won't be limited to one narrow area. You'll get to see how consulting projects work from start to finish and gradually take more ownership as you learn.

Who are we looking for?

We're more interested in your potential, curiosity and way of thinking than in a long list of previous experience. You could be a great fit if you:

• are studying towards a relevant university degree, are nearing graduation or have recently graduated

• have some experience and knowledge in HR, compensation and/or people analytics

• enjoy working with both numbers and people

• have strong Excel skills, are curious about AI and how new tools can make our work better

• take initiative and enjoy finding practical solutions when each project requires a tailored approach rather than a standard process

• communicate clearly and enjoy working with different people

• are fluent in both Finnish and English

• are excited about working in a small and entrepreneurial consultancy

Previous experience in HR or rewards is a plus, but not a requirement. Relevant experience could also come from internships, summer jobs, your studies, thesis work or other projects.

Compensation and benefits

The salary for this trainee position is EUR 20 per hour. In addition, we offer a daily lunch benefit of EUR 14 (2026) on top of your salary for each working day.
